Celebrating National Coffee Day with Coffee Factoids!

Are you ready for National Coffee Day?  Just around the corner we can celebrate again on October 1st, which is International Coffee Day.  The Specialty Coffee Association www.sca.com, working with Square www.squareup.com reviewed 2018 U.S. data reports to learn our favorite coffees, types of milks, and when we tend to drink our coffee.

  • In 2018 latte was the most popular coffee drink in America.
  • At $3.49 a cup, Idaho offered the least expensive latte, while in North Dakota it cost $4.45.
  • If you’re not a traditional dairy user most likely you use top ranked dairy alternative almond milk.
  • Soy comes in 2nd place, followed by oat, coconut, hemp, macadamia nut, and pea milk.
  • CookingLight www.cookinlight.com reports that the yellow pea milk contains 8 grams of protein per an 8-ounce serving.
  • Oh, and if you live in Pennsylvania, Keystone State coffee drinkers prefer oat to almond milk.
  • And when do Americans have to have that first cup?  That would be with breakfast, of course!

What’s your favorite coffee drink and milk?
